Aynhoe Park Wedding

There was a cheer, the room erupted into laughter and clapping as they finished the final notes of their ‘boy band’ song, after downing shots, getting into yoga positions, and putting on lipstick….All in a bid to be allowed to see the bride. Because in Chinese tradition, the ‘door games’ are the start of the wedding day celebrations that literally bring everyone together in the best way. And thats how it continued for my couple and their guests who had hired AYNHOE PARK for their wedding weekend. With the aforementioned door games and then Chinese Tea Ceremonies (Ill share photos of these in a second blog post), a walk outside before the rain came down, and then a sprint back inside for a quick dress and HAIR CHANGE (see pic below for both styles my bride had) before their emotional and heartfelt wedding ceremony which took place in the Orangery.

A blast of cold air as the windows got flung open and everyone piled out for CONFETTI before running back inside again for group photographs with the giraffe!…Guests were plied with champagne and canapés, the house fires were stoked and the beautiful smell of perfumed candles and open lit fires spread around the sumptuous hallways and rooms that is Aynhoe Park.

Guests were ushered into the Dining Room which had been filled with BALLOONS (as my bride had envisioned – to make it a more intimate experience) and it worked. There were also beautiful blush tapered candles on the tables and FLORALS in blush and berry tones as well as bars of chocolate as favours…A lazy dinner and heartfelt speeches and everyone was up and led back into the Salon where an epic dessert station had been set up, together with a sweet table in the entrance room and a PHOTOBOOTH….Needless to say Tracy and Ben looked after their guests so well and with such thought and care…Turning the wedding into what felt like a house party, as the evening got underway, and the DJ’S PLAYED amongst the smoke (yes SMOKE MACHINES are brilliant when it comes to photographs), where it felt as though around every corner was food and drink to keep everyone satisfied….And then as the evening turned into the wee hours, there were calls for the afterparty to relocate down into The Club at Aynhoe Park which is through a secret door and down into a cellar….DJ sets by the groom and late night laughter is how I left them….

All epic wedding vendor details at the end.
