Queens House Wedding

Im thrilled to be a Recommended Wedding Photographer for the Queens House in Greenwich….and photographed some absolutely stunning weddings here over the last few years. So if you are planning to hold your celebrations at the Queens House for 2018 get inspired from these weddings held¬†here and here. You can also see a beautiful feature on Style Me Pretty here….And if you’re wanting something a little different, check out their sister venue The Cutty Sark – and be inspired by what you can do onboard here and as Featured on London Bride here.

I also thought you may want some tips from a photographer to help create and elevate the look and feel of your day.

Top Tips for Brides at Queens House, Greenwich

  • If you are booking somewhere to stay the night before your wedding, there is both the De Vere Devonport House (literally within walking distance of The Queens House). Also DoubleTree by Hilton, Greenwich – you will need transport but its only a mile or two away. Alternatively – AirBnB it! If you have a hunt around there are some beautiful places you can rent (which could look super tasteful and your own design aesthetic).
  • TREES – I photographed a ¬†wedding where the couple hired in two ash trees to decorate the main hall where they got married and it worked so well. As a big space, having tree foliage to add some contrast and be much more visually impactful was great. Both in look and in the photographs!
  • Utilise the balcony upstairs! An often forgotten space but its private, under cover (just in case you have a little rain), and has the most beautiful black and white tiled floor and classical columns….The bounce light is luminous and really enhances skin tones (which makes you look even more model-like on your wedding day!).
  • Position your cake upstairs where there is natural light. This will allow for beautiful photographs of it. You can always have it moved downstairs during the dinner if you want to.
  • Use the undercroft to create a party atmosphere! Its epic, and feels a little like you are stepping into the Prohibition Era where you are in the vaults, the surroundings are intimate and you can really enjoy the live music or DJ.

And if you are getting married at the Queens House and looking for a local wedding photographer or love my style of photography it would be great to hear from you. Bookings for 2018 now taking place. Email me on contact.natashahurley@gmail.com
