Champagne glass in hand, twirling in her dress – this is how Gemma started the day of her RSA wedding! A super creative, lovely, funny couple, who chose to have a winter wedding in the heart of London. From their ceremony at the beautiful Catholic Church in Soho followed by a crazy red route-master bus ride back to the RSA (Royal Society of Arts) where drinks, dinner and just a few shots of Vodka were served (a Polish tradition)!
How to plan your wedding at the RSA?
The fun and free spirit of these two was infectious! I loved photographing their wedding (they also had an engagement shoot – which was hilarious) and meant that they were comfortable on the day of their wedding and we could quickly capture some of the photographs of them both as the evening street lights came on at 4pm – yes, having a winter wedding means there are less hours of daylight so we made sure we had a few photographs before it got too dark….if you look carefully you will see the lights are on, yet the photo looks as though its in full daylight….This is the magic of photography and having a professional photographer who can create the most beautiful photographs in whatever situation.
Tips for Brides – How to alter your dress?
Also a little tip from this wedding – the bride, Gemma bought an amazing dress from Forget Me Knot in their sample sale, and then designed a bodice (overlay) with a dress designer/maker to add to the dress. This made the dress unique and was a really great way of getting a bespoke dress at a very affordable cost….And she was able to make something she truly loved and represented her….And she was able to mix it up by removing the bodice part for the evening.
