Why have a London Engagement Shoot?
I thought I’d share this beautiful London Engagement shoot on film today. So often your engagement is a whirlwind of organising for your wedding that having a moment to enjoy each other’s company and celebrate being an engaged couple is so special. My own engagement shoot a day before our wedding was a blissful hour as the sun was setting, just relaxing and thinking of nothing but having fun with my husband to be and our wedding photographer. So I know from the ‘other side’ of the camera also how important it is as a bride….Certainly if you are nervous about having your photograph taken on your wedding day or if you want to get an idea of how it will feel like, I ALWAYS think an engagement shoot is perfect for this. Also you get an extra set of photographs which you can frame which are of equal quality to your wedding photographs and add something different…
Top Tips for Brides
If you are having an engagement shoot here are a few of my top tips…Have a hair appointment the day before or morning of your engagement. Bring along a few wardrobe changes – and celebrate the shoot as something special by wearing something special. Things that look great on film particularly are light/pale coloured dresses without much patterning. Bring along hats, sunglasses, beautiful shoes, great jewellery….Allow your photographer to choose the location and time on the date….This means they will be able to select the most beautiful backdrops and know where the best lighting is.
London Engagement Shoot on Film
Heres a few photographs – pretty much all taken on film using fujifilm400 and on my contax645 developed by Richard Photo Lab in LA…..Now can you spot where in London this is….(my secret gorgeous reflected and bounced light street which has victorian lamps and is always empty even though its in the heart of tourist land in London).
