Im a film wedding photographer in London. This means I primarily shoot weddings in and around London (although I also shoot a few destination weddings each year – mainly France and Italy)….But what I wanted to share today was a little about being a London Wedding Photographer and what my style is. Because there are so many London wedding photographers who do you choose to be your wedding photographer and how do you determine what their style is?
My style is beautiful, classic and light (as opposed to a dark filter – which can often make photographs look edgy and cool but also accentuate dark shadows under eyes – not flattering). This leads me on to being a flattering wedding photographer. Perhaps silly to even mention – surely everyone classes the quality of the photograph based on how good they look right? But sometimes in the thrill of seeing an epic nightime shot with a couple, or pictures of the gritty details which appeal, you may forget to check out the portraits. Or maybe there just arent any portraits in the gallery to see. Yes it may feel like you dont want to have a few directed photos taken but I promise afterwards if you are desperately hunting through your wedding photographs to find a picture of you which is beautifully composed, you look amazing and is timeless and dont have one, this can make you have a little twinge of regret.
So here’s a few photographs to highlight what kind of style I photograph in…One which will stand the test of time and make you and your wedding look stunning….and in terms of taste, Im definitely one for natural colours, hand dyed linens, boho looking hair and natural makeup. Where the dress is structured yet not fussy and where there is a great party in the evening with dancing under the stars.
All photographs taken on film using Contax 645, film portra400 and processed by Richard Photo Lab. (I also shoot digital especially the evening when you need super fast shutter speeds and low light capability).
